Max is feeling good

As you might remember, Max suffered from lower intestinal problems that led to liver problems. He has also had a problem with his thyroid. All of these things are related. Max has no appetite and has twice had to go to the vet because of constipation that completely blocked him.

I have been feeding him with an eyedropper every night about half of a can of ground salmon catfood mixed with water. I have added the Petropics Probiotic powder and a little flavorless fiber powder and a dropper of cod liver oil. I feed this to him and lately he’ll start eating it on his own. I sneak in his foul tasting medicines in a liquid squirt – he hates this, but if I do it right, I get most of it in. I have to give him a squirt of water right afterwards or he will drool out the medicine.

Late at night we feed him a bowl of Tiki cat or the new Fancy Feast and he usually eats this on his own, without any problem.

During the day he has been knoshing on the other cat’s kibble, but not much.

We just got back from the vet and she called to tell me that the liver enzymes are back to normal and the thyroid is back to normal. He has a slightly elevated calcium, but all the readings that were screwed up are back to where they should be.

He also gained nearly a pound.

I had to cut a cd to get the images to Erica’s machine and then upload them at super slow modem speed, but here are a couple of pictures of Max.

As an extra bonus, I went over to Larry’s house to take pictures of his car and I caught this mother deer and her two babies that were in the back yard eating my mother’s flowers. They ran out across the road and went through the Smith’s yard back to the woods.
