I am not a big fan of the Internet of Things (IoT). It takes quite a bit of knowledge and skill to protect computers form malicious attacks. Companies like Symantec and McAfee make billions protecting computers and people are still hacked. My security software for websites is downloaded by thousands every week and websites still get hacked. It is natural that cars, baby monitors, routers and thermostats get hacked every day. Why would I want to open up my car to hackers? The software us not easily updateable. There is practically no defense against hackers. The first thing I would do with one of these cars is turn off the WiFi. If that wasn’t possible I’d unscrew the WiFi antenna. Better yet, buy a 1964 Chevy Malibu wagon with low mileage and not too much rust.

Houston police announced the arrest of two men accused of stealing about 30 Jeep and Dodge vehicles. Authorities say they did it by using a laptop and pirating software.
