How to Make an RPG: Release! | How to Make an RPG

About 30 years ago while working at Western Union I had access to a version of Colossal Cave Adventure. I loved the game and would stay late after work to play it. I even wrote my own game engine in BASIC and had the beginnings of an adventure game based on Lovecraft’s The Strange Case of Charles Dexter Ward. Somewhere in one of the drawers on the porch, under piles of books, is the 30 year old source code listing.

I have half a mind to download this engine and translate the code I have into the Lua programming language. It would make an interesting project without any chance of making money.

I started reading Science Fiction in the 1950s. I started Writing SF in the 1960s. Then, I had a life. Now I am retired, raising chickens and keeping bees. I am still an avid reader and I have sold about 70 stories in the last 20 years.
I have been collecting information about writing Science Fiction for many years now. Social media has replaced the Blog and large dedicated websites, so the pages here are mostly static. I update them from time to time.
