Science Fiction League

There was an auction for an original Science Fiction League Membership card and I captured the images. The card was from 1934 and it is a promotional item from Thrilling Wonder Stories, one of Hugo Gernsback’s many titles after he lost control of Amazing Stories.

I did my best to clean up the images. I had a packet of business cards blanks and I made up 10 of these. Drop me a line and I’ll snail mail you one. There are seven left. First come first serve.

Exactly what one would expect from Hugo. Did you know he also founded an Association of Wireless Operators and much more.

I’ve recently published a new 900-page biography about the life and times of Hugo Gernsback. It is available on Amazon. Just follow this link:

The manuscript was found while I was in the process of closing down Gernsback Publications Inc. in 2003. It was apparently written some time in the 1950’s. It covers all the areas that Hugo found interesting: wireless communications, science fiction, publishing, patents, foretelling the future, and much more.

Buy the Book!

I cleaned up my tab for Sonny Boy's Help Me and made it into a short book. There's a Kindle version for 99 cents, and if you buy the paperback you get the Kindle free.

I started reading Science Fiction in the 1950s. I started Writing SF in the 1960s. Then, I had a life. Now I am retired, raising chickens and keeping bees. I am still an avid reader and I have sold about 70 stories in the last 20 years.
I have been collecting information about writing Science Fiction for many years now. Social media has replaced the Blog and large dedicated websites, so the pages here are mostly static. I update them from time to time.
