Apple Cider Doughnuts

Erica and I took our Sunday drive to Connecticut this weekend to Averill Farms in Washington Depot, CT. There are hundreds of places to pick your own apples within an hour or two drive from Nyack, but I like this one because of the Apple Cider Doughnuts. They melt in your mouth. Usually there is line waiting by the kitchen for the fresh doughnuts. I bought a dozen and there might be 6 left, because they fill up the car with their aroma.
I bought a pie and a peck of apples. It was nice ride. We also stopped at the Elephants Trunk Flea but it was mostly over priced junk.

Here are some pics of Nyack taken from the Tappan Zee Bridge on the way home. I live in a very pretty town. Click on the image to see a larger version. That’s Hook Mountain sticking out into the Hudson River. The River is 2-1/2 miles wide here and the Dutch Settlers called it the Tappan Zee.
