Star Finder

Locate and view stars by location or Catalogue ID.

Explore the Universe using Google Sky.

Star Finder is a little project that I put together in order to show stars on Google Sky. I loaded a database with a 250,000 stars and then added a few specialized lists. The menu of lists is in the upper right hand corner.

Google Sky, for all of its abilities, does not show stars near the north or south poles. If your try to show RA and DECL 0,0 you get a blank display. This is a program defect in the Google Maps code and, to my way of thinking, would not be hard to fix. I don't know why they haven't addressed this issue.
