I sent a story today to Roger Gray at the latest incarnation of New Worlds Magazine. The guidelines were released two days ago on Facebook. I may be one of the first stories he receives, which makes me hope that it will get a more thorough read. By the time the guidelines hit Duotrope.com, he will be getting 50 to a 100 subs a day. The site is not a pro venue and only pays 2.5p a word up to 5,000 words. I think that is about 4¢ in real money. (My story would be worth $200 if it could sell – unlikely.)

I purposely did not link to the guidelines in a futile effort to hide the page from my competition.

So far, New Worlds does not have a web presence other than Facebook. Interestingly enough, I have considered starting a Facebook eZine. It is easy enough to create Facebook pages linked to each other in the structure of a magazine. Pages can be formatted like web pages. Facebook is the ideal way to link to a readership. I should look into this again.

By the way, if you go to Duotrope and search for New Worlds you find a blog for a website that does not pay and does not seem to have much content. This is not Michael Moorcock’s New Worlds, which at the time of this post, does not have a Duotrope entry, but can be found at Ralan.com.
