This is post number 2,000. I started doing this in August of 2003. Before that I just used to change the index page every week or so. I sort-of had a blog, but wasn’t using any blogging software. Since then I’ve used Blogger for a few years and I’ve been using WordPress software for almost a year.

2,000 posts is quite a few. Some are dumb, some are fun, some were pretty interesting. I figure there’s maybe half a million words here. It seems like a lot of work, but it is a good outlet for my thoughts. I do it for my self and a few loyal readers. It helps me write and keeps my old friends updated on my news and ideas. I’ve never tried to target any audience or slant my posts towards any particular subject. You can read anything here – anything that interests me.

I’ve had as many as 5,000 readers when I’ve had posts hit the big blogs, but mostly I hover around 500 people a day. Some of those people read the blog posts and others are just surfing the pages on the site.
