Nebula Alert is, in fact, one of three stories that concern this particular Rim Worlds – the Empress Irene itreration – an off-shoot of the main Rim Worlds saga. Two of those novels, including Nebula Alert, have direct contact between this alternate reality and the one inhabited by John Grimes, Chandler's most written about character.
