Letter from Corinna

I received this from cousin Corinna. Please read it. If you are from Rockland County you might consider signing the petition.

Hi all,

For those of you who don’t know, in 1981, my sister-in-law Paula Bohovesky was brutally raped and murdered a few blocks away from her home in Pearl River, NY. The men responsible were caught and convicted, however, since 2005, they continue to come up for parole every two years. So far they have been denied parole, but we believe that without our continued efforts, they may eventually have a chance of getting out of prison. We can’t let that happen.

Please download the petition at http://www.legislatorjohnmurphy.net/LegislatorJohnMurphy/Petition_For_Parole_Block.html

Once signed, it can be mailed to the address that appears at the top of the first page to the attention of Barbara Tobin. Please let me know if you send it — I’d like to have an idea of how many signatures we get this time. Every signature counts.

Thanks to all of you who have helped in the past. With your continued support, we can keep the people responsible for the brutality commited on Paula in prison where they belong. I’ve included the latest Journal News article below.

Please let me know if you have any trouble opening, viewing or printing the petition and I can get a hard copy to you.

Thanks,

Corinna

Corinna, Hi..My name is Jerryl..I was Paula Bohovesky's best friend back in the 70's. We used to spend the summers performing, & painting and designing the sets for the Town Of Ramapo's Traveling Theater. I also grew up in Pearl River..but was a couple of yrs ahead of Paula and went to Spring Valley schools. Our shared artistic talents and living in such close proximity to one another made way for a tight friendship. We were always together.
They(my friends) called me that night.. I was in Western NY at college…they thought surely she was with me when she turned up missing. I called home to my Mom to see what was going on and my mom said she had run into Paula earlier as she was walking home from the library and stopped to offer her a ride the rest of the way home(2 blocks) but bec. it was such nice weather Paula said she preferred to walk the rest of the way. I can only imagine that this took place right after my mom drove away..We still can't believe it. I have not been able to have closure as I was not able to attend the funeral having been so far away at school at that time. My Mom went for me. I have not really communicated with Lois or Peter since but have made an attempt to email Lois at the Vagabond Theater once a few yrs ago but don't think my message was received. I am currently obtaining signatures for the current petition to block her killer's parole. If you could kindly pass this note on to Lois and or Peter it would be greatly appreciated. I am currently residing in Orlando Fl and have been here for a long while now. My mom is still in our original house in Pearl River. We still think of Paula and love her very much. I have kept the letters she wrote to me while I was in college. Tell Peter I'm still in touch with all her & his friends from summer theater.I would love to be able to reconnect with him. Please email me at [email protected]
Her killers must never get out. My regards- Jerryl Kain

Hello, My name is Christine and I too grew up in Pearl River and was a friend of Paula’s. I lived on Washington Ave., a few houses down from where Paula was found. She was a nice girl and I can’t remember her ever being unkind to anyone. I am living in Utah and have sent the link to the petition all over the world. I have asked everyone I know to please sign and forward. I will never forget Paula and will do anything that can help to keep her murderers in prison.

Hi Corinna, I hope many people visit this site and the others that are springing up to support Paula, Lois and Peter. I am Sharon Klass and I taught both Paula and Peter Art at Pearl River High School. I am pleased every time I see one of the photos that I took of Paula in the newspaper and on the new petition site as more proof that my connection with Paula is as alive as ever. As awful as these “petition times” are for the Bohoveskys, it is also a time that brings Paula back to her friends and the community. Paula’s energy and smile are with me always and I feel her presence when I go up to Bear Mountain or at the beach, with the wind blowing her hair and making her free. I have signed and passed around a petition and am happy to see that they can now be signed on the internet. These men define the word “criminal” and it is my hope that they are never released. Send my love to both Peter and Lois and tell them they are ever in my thoughts, as is Paula. Mrs. Sharon Klass

    Hi Keith —

My name is Dori Knight, and I am on the Petition For Paula Advisory Council, led by Rockland County Legislator, John Murphy. I just wanted to thank you for posting this, and spreading the awareness.

I also wanted to encourage everyone, if they have not yet signed the petition, to please do so as soon as possible, as we are currently packaging the material for the parole board. That petition can be found at http://www.petitionforpaula.org

We also have a cause page on facebook, and I invite all of Paula’s friends to stop by and leave their memories of Paula to be included in the parole board package. You can find that page at:

    http://www.causes.com/petitionforpaula

Also, we are always in need of volunteers, so if you want to be involved in the ongoing campaign, please feel free to contact me.

Lastly, I am putting together a video that will hopefully be of some use in the June hearing, and invite everyone to participate in that project.

Basically, it will be 1 second shots of people from around the world that do not want these men to go free.

If you would like to participate, please send a photograph of yourself to

    [email protected]

Facial expressions should be serious, as that is the overall tone, and the subject should be looking directly into the camera. You may hold up a sign, if you like, that reads, “No.”

These photos need to be turned in as soon as possible.

To all of Paula’s friends, a huge cyber hug. We also were friends, and she was very important in my life as well — so I absolutely know what you’re feeling right now.

And to Corinna, many, many hugs to your family.
