Fall in New England

I took a bunch of nice pictures in Connecticut this weekend. One of these will be my new wallpaper on my work machine. Click on the picture to see the large wallpaper sized picture.

I am having trouble uploading these so if the images to show up, I am working on it.

They look fine by me.

Nice photo's. We don;t get red leavs here. Mostly gold and yellows in the fall. Still, it's a pretty site though.

I must admit, those photo's sure look good.

Very nice pics. Our trees have already lost their leaves, since we've already had two small snows...

Hey guys: We haven't had snow yet and the leaves on our trees are about 2/3rds still on the trees.

We don't get snow until after November here in Edmonton. And last year snow didn't arrive until January. We had maybe 3-5 days where temperatures fell around -18C. It wasn't like back in the 80's where we had snow on the ground November ankle deep juat around gray cup weekend to March.

Coldest winter I've ever seen it here though was in 1996 -30C with ice crystals in the middle of the afternoon and snow up to our knees. But winters like that are rare here.

I think partially why the leaves stay on the trees longer in New England is because they are close to the ocean. We'd get the same thing in Vancouver area when I was living there in the 60's/70's. Our autums were very similar to New England.

Denver's so windy that the leaves never really have a chance. Around here, if the temperatures are above or below average, you can pretty much bet that we're going to have wind. The mountains cause such rapid weather changes around here, it really makes life an adventure. It can be in the 60's here for a high, and you can wake up the next morning to half a foot of snow...which melts shortly after lunch time.

I guess it's a good thing I like unpredictable weather!
