I have decided to format ScienceFictional.com as a prototype eZine. My theory is that the only ones who read science fiction zines are writers who want to get published. I have decided to create a science fiction eZine with no content, only guidelines.
I have the idea that I might make it a community blog where users can post their own stories, but I will wait on that for a while. I haven’t actually seen any community blog software that I like.
I hope to make the guidelines more complex as time goes on and add an essay or two about what I want and don’t want. I expect that I can keep this up for several years.

Sounds like a great plan and I think your theory has merit. I think there was an ezine called sci-fi weekly that might have acomplsihed the same thing but I don’t know if they’re still up and running anymore.
Before I began using Geeklog as my CMS of choice I was tinkering with Drupal. See OS Empire link in my sidebar. They’re big on Drupal over there. It’s a pretty good CMS written in php.
I installed geeklog. The hard part was hacking the template, but it seems to be working well.
I directed my dead zines to sciencefictional.com. I eagerly await clicks.
Jim, any idea how to get my google ads into a block? geeklog barfs at javascript. I wrote a custom php function, but it ruined the page layout.
Geeklog is a nifty variation on content management. Simpler than a full blown CMS, but more stuctured than a wiki.
My goal is zero labor. A real zine is too tiring. I think this may be the right way to go about this.
Hi Keith:
I don’t know what happened here to your Blog today but I’m glad something hic-cupped here. I missed answering this. Strange on my part.
I’m not an expert on Geeklog. You probably are more proficient at it then I am. The GL forum is a good place to start they are friendly and helpful.
