The Atomic Genie

My story is up at Fifth Di... They have this early 1990s approach to HTML. Their site needs a makeover to get into the 21st century before it's over. This is the Young Adult version of the story God in a Bottle that was inspired by Robert Louis Stevenson's story The Bottle Imp.
I mailed off submissions to Static Movement and Book of Dark Wisdom, the later story was Speed Trap and I expect a rejection some time in May. BODW is a very slow market, but I've run out of fast markets for this story. Speed Trap is now my favorite story and it is still homeless after too many tries. On the other hand, I expect a reply from Static Movement any minute now, as they are a new market and have set a fairly restrictive theme for their first issue. They got Note to Self, which is yet-another-time-travel-paradox story. (A reader from ASIM actually called it that.)

I don't like all the bells and whistles that so many sites have, probably because I'm on dial-up.

If I ever have time to teach myself some more HTML, I'm sure I'll change the site some, but don't count on it soon...as I simply don't have the time.; 2:45 PM

Keith said...: The reason that I haven't posted the Static Movement acceptance (other than there is doubt about the pub itself) is that I am now 35 days overdue (sounds like something a girl told me back in 1968) at Abyss & Apex. The story is a strong one and a sale to A&A would get me a sale from a zine on Ralan's pro page - something that I haven't done, yet.
Of course, A&A has lost my stories twice before. I thought that they'd be more organized with a new editor, but maybe not.
I have a bunch of stories out and it looks like all of them are at the cusp and I should hear any minute...; 2:00 PM
